Lifelines Scented Colored Pencils

These scented colored pencils, are meant to transport the user to a special place of relaxation. Lifelines is a wellness company started by the Melissa and Doug Bernstein of the toy company, Melissa and Doug. Lifelines offers products that stimulate the user's senses to calm their mind.

 

The scents of these pencils we a fun manufacturing challenge. When talking with pencil manufacturers, we discovered that there was no method of making pencils that resulted in a strong scent that lasts for years. So I developed a new manufacturing process. The result is a scent that is neither to light or too strong, that the user can smell while writing instead of having to bring it close to their nose. The scent lasts years instead of just a few uses. The packaging I designed displays the pencils beautifully at shelf and has a custom blister that makes the pencils easy to remove while protecting the scent.
