This tray keeps sockets organized using individual prongs with easy to read measurements. Often, mechanics will just have a drawer full of sockets that they need to hunt through. The black trays hold metric sockets while the green hold imperial sockets. Now the mechanic knows exactly where to find the socket they are looking for. This solution is low tech and low price.
